Kinesiology & Sport Management at Texas Tech: Where Are We Now? We are a department within the College of Education at Texas Tech University. We offer undergraduate and graduate programs in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Sport Management.
Department of Kinesiology & Sport Management
The Department of Kinesiology & Sport Management at Texas Tech University is a dynamic and growing department that offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs. We are committed to preparing our students for successful careers in the kinesiology, sport management, and related fields.
Our faculty members are engaged in cutting-edge research, and our students have the opportunity to work with faculty on research projects. We also offer a variety of internship and practicum experiences that allow students to apply what they are learning in the classroom to real-world settings.
The Department of Kinesiology & Sport Management is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). We are also a member of the National Association for Sport and Physical Education (NASPE) and the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM).
The Sport Management program at Texas Tech began in the fall of 2001 with just a handful of students. We have now grown to over 400 undergraduate students and 20 graduate students. Our goal is to provide our students with a well-rounded education that will prepare them for a career in the sport industry.
We offer a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management and a Master of Science in Kinesiology with a concentration in Sport Management. Our faculty are committed to excellence in teaching and research and are involved in various aspects of the sport industry.
Our students have interned with professional sport teams, collegiate athletic departments, sport governing bodies, and sport facilities. They have also gone on to work in a variety of other fields such as event management, sales, marketing, and public relations.
