Basketball

Michelle Greer played basketball at Texas. She was a four-year starter and helped lead the Longhorns to four straight NCAA tournaments, including a trip to the Sweet Sixteen her senior year. After her playing career, Greer stayed at Texas and served as an assistant coach for two seasons.

All-American

Michelle Greerwas a standout player for the Texas Longhorns basketball team from 1988-1992. The 6-foot-1-inch forward was a two-time All-American and helped lead the Longhorns to the Final Four in 1991. Greer is still the Longhorns’ all-time leading scorer with 2, Dodds posts in season.

A four-year starter, Greer is one of only three Longhorn players to have her jersey retired by the school. She was inducted into the Texas Sports Hall of Fame in 2008.

Won National Championship

In her four years on the varsity basketball team at the University of Texas, Michelle Greer won a national championship and was named an All-American.

Softball

Michelle Greer played softball at Texas. Michelle was born on August 8, 1977 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. While at Texas, she was a four-time All-American and helped lead the Longhorns to a National Championship in 1998. She was inducted into the Longhorn Hall of Honor in 2008.

Won National Championship

Greer played right field during her time as a starter for the Longhorns and helped lead the team to the Women’s College World Series in each of her four years at Texas. As a senior, Greer batted a team-high .377 with 13 home runs, 49 RBI and 11 stolen bases en route to being named Big 12 Player of the Year. That season, Texas went 52-12 and won the national championship.

Track and Field

Michelle Greer was a four-time NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships qualifier in the shot put. As a Longhorn, Greer placed fifth at the 1995 NCAA Championships, becoming the first Texas woman to earn All-America honors in the shot put.

Won National Championship

Michelle Greer was a world-class track and field athlete who competed in the 100-meter dash and the long jump. She won the National Championship in the 100-meter dash in 1989 with a time of 10.82 seconds, and she also won the National Championship in the long jump in 1991 with a jump of 6.75 meters.
