Tran Sport Boats was created in 1983 by Bob and Carolyn Tracy in Palacios, Texas. Their first boat was the Tran Sport 1750, a 17-foot (5.2 m) open center console. The company then added the 2050 model, a 20-foot (6.1 m) boat with a cuddy cabin. A few years later they introduced the 2500 V-bottom, a 25-foot (7.6 m) boat with a V-shaped hull.
