Running back Keaontay Ingram is also a key player to watch, as he has rushed for over 1,000 yards and 10 touchdowns this season. They are currently coached by Barry Odom.

Among those coaches, four have been inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame: Dan McGugin, Don Faurot, Hugo Bezdek, and Frank Broyles. Warren Powers was named National Coach of the Year in 1977 by both the American Football Coaches Association and United Press International. The Missouri Tigers football team represents the University of Missouri in college football and competes in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The team is based in Columbia, Missouri, playing its home games at Faurot Field on campus. The Tigers began playing in 1869.

The Missouri Tigers have had 27 head coaches throughout their history. Dave Steckel is their current head coach, hired on December 6, 2015. Gary Pinkel, who coached from 2001 to 2015, is the winningest coach in school history with a record of 119–73 (.619). Jack Stewart led the Tigers to their only undefeated season and national championship in 1960. Blaik Bryant, Dan Devine, Mel Tjeerdsma are also former coaches of the Missouri Tigers.


The Missouri Tigers are one of the best teams in the country. Their defense is strong, their offense is explosive, and their special teams are solid. They have all the pieces to make a run at the National Championship.

The Texas Longhorns are a good team, but they are not on the same level as the Tigers. Their defense is not as strong, their offense is not as potent, and their special teams are not as good. They will not be able to keep up with Missouri in this game.
