Sport Psychology Services

The Department of Sport Psychology at Texas Tech University offers a variety of internships for those interested in a career in Sport Psychology. We provide services to athletes, coaches, and teams at all levels of competition. We offer services such as mental training, performance enhancement, and injury prevention.

Assessment

The first step in our sport psychology services is assessment. We want to know who you are as an athlete, what your goals are, and what might be getting in the way of your success. We will ask you to complete some questionnaires and then we will meet with you for an initial interview. From there, we will develop a plan of action specifically tailored to help you meet your goals.

Consultation

Interns provide direct services to TTU student-athletes through one-on-one consultations, sport psychology groups, and psychoeducational presentations. The internship experience is designed to provide trainees with a wide range of learning experiences in applied sport psychology. Clinical training experiences include:

Interns work with student-athletes who request assistance with a variety of mental health and performance issues. Services are provided in person, over the phone, and via Skype.
