What is the Teaching Assistant Position?
The teaching assistant position is a non-tenure track appointment for one academic year. The successful candidate will teach one section of Introduction to Sport Management (INSM 2301) and one section of Sport Marketing (MKTG 3350). The candidate will also be responsible for conducting office hours, proctoring exams, and other duties as assigned by the instructor.
This is a 9-month, benefits eligible position. To be considered for this position, applicants must have a Master’s degree in Sport Management or related field. Prior teaching experience is preferred but not required. Applicants must also have excellent communication and organizational skills.

What are the Requirements for the Teaching Assistant Position?

-Be a current Sport Management major or have completed one of the Sport Management degree programs
-Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
-Be in good academic standing
-Completed at least two semesters at Texas Tech University
-Have completed or be enrolled in SMGT 3310, 3320, and 4310
-Be able to work 10 hours per week
-Be able to commit to the position for one academic year

The Teaching Assistant (TA) is responsible for undergraduate instruction in the areas of public speaking and oral communication.
