Their History

The Houston Astros are a baseball team based in Houston, Texas. The Astros compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member club of the American League (AL) West division, having moved to the division in 2013 after spending their first 51 seasons in the National League (NL). The Astros have played their home games at Minute Maid Park since 2000.

The Astros were established as the Houston Colt .45s and entered the National League as an expansion team in 1962 along with the New York Mets. The current name—reflecting Houston’s role as the host of the Johnson Space Center—was adopted three years later when they moved to the Astrodome, becoming the first team in MLB history to play their home games indoors. The Astrodome was nicknamed “The Eighth Wonder of the World”.

The Astros made history in 2004 when they became the first team in MLB history to come back from a three-game deficit to win a seven-game playoff series (against the Atlanta Braves) and advance to the World Series, which they lost to the Chicago White Sox in four games.

The Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys are one of the most iconic teams in the NFL. They have a rich history dating back to their founding in 1960. The Cowboys have always been a competitive team, winning multiple Super Bowls and conference championships. They are currently atop the NFC East standings with a record of 9-1. Their History

The Dallas Cowboys are a professional American football team based in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. They compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league’s National Football Conference (NFC) East division. They are headquartered in Frisco, Texas, and play their home games at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, which opened for the 2009 season. The stadium took the place of the partially demolished Texas Stadium, which served as their home venue from 1971 to 2008.

The Cowboys joined the NFL as an expansion team in 1960. The team’s national following might best be represented by its NFL record of consecutive sell-outs. The Cowboys’ streak of 190 consecutive sold-out regular and post-season games began in 2002. The franchise has made it to the Super Bowl eight times, tied with the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Denver Broncos for second most Super Bowl appearances in history, behind only the New England Patriots’ nine appearances. This has also corresponded to eight NFC championships, most in the NFC. The Cowboys have won five of those Super Bowl appearances, tying them with their NFC rivals, the San Francisco 49ers; both are second to Pittsburgh’s and Denver’s record six Super Bowl championships. The Cowboys are the only NFL team to record 20 straight winning seasons (1966–85),in which they shared glittering success both on and off…

Their recent success

After a strong showing in the 2019 season, the Dallas Cowboys look poised to make another run at the playoffs in 2020. Led by quarterback Dak Prescott and running back Ezekiel Elliott, the Cowboys have one of the most potent offenses in the NFL. The defense, while not as strong as the offense, is still a force to be reckoned with. With a solid core of players and a few key additions in the offseason, the Cowboys are poised for success in 2020.
