Texas Non-Profit Little League Sports (TNPLS) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation that provides youth recreational sports opportunities in the Greater Houston Area. Our mission is to promote the concepts of good sportsmanship, teamwork, and fair play among area youth. We achieve our mission through providing organized leagues in baseball, basketball, and football for boys and girls ages 5-18.

We are staffed entirely by volunteers who give their time and talents to provide a positive experience for all participants. Our Board of Directors consists of community leaders who are committed to our mission.

TNPLS is funded solely through registration fees, donations, and sponsorships. We rely on the support of the community to help us continue our work.

History of Texas Little League Sports

Texas Little League Sports is a non-profit youth sports organization that was founded in the early 1920s. The organization provides children with the opportunity to participate in organized baseball and softball games. Texas Little League Sports also offers children the chance to learn the fundamentals of the game, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

Early days

The first Texas Little League was organized in Corpus Christi in 1955. The Corpus Christi Little League operated for one season before being annexed by the larger Coastal Bend Little League.

The first official Texas Little League State Tournament was held in 1957, with Port Lavaca winning the title. The tournament has been held every year since, with Corpus Christi winning a record eleven state championships.

In 1960, the Houston (now Southwest) Little League became the first team from Texas to advance to the Little League World Series, finishing third. Lancaster won the state championship that year, and would go on to win three more titles in the 1960s.


Texas Little League Sports is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, established in 2010. The organization’s mission is to “promote, develop, supervise, and voluntarily assist in all lawful ways, the interest of those who will participate in Little League baseball and softball.”

Texas Little League Sports is the largest youth sports organization in Texas, with more than 200,000 participants in communities across the state. The organization offers baseball and softball programs for boys and girls ages 4-18.

The first Texas Little League Baseball World Series was held in 2011, and featured teams from Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, and Austin. Since then, the tournament has expanded to include teams from all over the state.
