Eligibility

Types of Internships

There are several types of internships available in the Sport Department at Texas A&M University-Commerce. These include Athletic Training, Coaching, Sport Management, and Sport Marketing. -Monitoring and replying to comments and messages in a timely manner
-Developing creative content, including graphics and videos
-Assisting with social media campaigns and contests
-Analyzing social media analytics to make recommendations for improvement
-Creating monthly reports on social media metrics

Marketing

The Sport Department offers several marketing internships each semester. These are generally unpaid positions, but academic credit can be arranged through your department or college. Marketing interns work closely with the marketing staff on a variety of projects related topromoting the Sport Department and its programs. Interns will gain valuable experience in event planning, social media, graphic design, and general marketing techniques.

Communications

The Communications internship offers students interested in the sports information field the opportunity to learn and gain experience in many different areas. This is a hands-on position that will give the intern practical experience while working with the Assistant Director of Athletics for Communications on a daily basis. Interns will gain experience in writing press releases, game day operations, maintaining the athletics website, social media, and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
-Must be able to work 10-20 hours per week during normal office hours
-Excellent written and verbal communications skills
-Experience with Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and/or website design is preferred but not required
