The History of Sport U

Sport U is a website that covers all things Texas sports. From high school to professional, we have you covered. We have been around since 2011 and have been providing quality content since then.

How it started

In the early days of Sport U, the organization was known as the Southwest Conference. The conference was formed in 1914 by six schools in Texas and Oklahoma: Baylor University, the University of Texas, Texas A&M University, Rice University, Southwestern University, and the University of Oklahoma.

How it became the best of Texas sports

In 1994, the state of Texas decided to create a new university. This university would be different from any other in the state, or even the country. It would be a school designed solely for sports. The idea was to create a place where the best athletes in the state could come to train and compete, and to build a tradition of winning that would rival any other school in the nation.

The school was founded as The University of Texas at Arlington, but it was quickly nicknamed “Sport U.” The school recruited some of the best coaches in the country, and they brought in athletes from all over the state. The results were immediate. In just its first year, Sport U won national championships in football and basketball.

Since then, Sport U has become one of the most successful athletic programs in the country. It has won more national championships than any other school in Texas, and its athletes have gone on to win Olympic gold medals, Super Bowl titles, and World Series titles. Sport U is now considered one of the best athletic programs in the nation, and its athletes are some of the most sought-after recruits by colleges and professional teams alike.
