Football
Texas State’s football team is preparing for their next game against the University of Houston. The team is confident and is looking forward to the challenge. The game is set to take place on October 10th.
Upcoming game against Louisiana
The Texas State Bobcats are set to take on the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns this Saturday at 6 p.m. in Cajun Field. The game will be televised on ESPN2.
The Bobcats are coming off a loss to Appalachian State last week, while Louisiana is coming off a win against Arkansas State.
This will be the first meeting between the two schools since 2013, when Texas State defeated Louisiana, 28-21, in San Marcos.
Team’s record so far
Texas State’s team record so far this season is 5 wins and 2 losses. They started the season off with a win against UTEP, but then lost their next game against Ohio State. After that, they won 4 games in a row against UTSA, Louisiana, South Alabama, and ULM. Most recently, they lost against Arkansas State. They have another game coming up soon against Troy.
Basketball
The Texas State men’s basketball team is set to take on the University of Texas at Austin tonight in a key conference matchup. The game will tips off at 8:00 pm EST and will be televised on ESPNU. The Longhorns are currently ranked No. 3 in the nation, while the Bobcats are unranked.
Recent game against Baylor
Coach Baker is proud of how his team fought back after being down by fourteen points in the first half. The team had a ten point lead in the second half, but Baylor was able to tie the game up with only a few seconds left. In overtime, Texas State was down by three points with less than a minute left, but they were able to fight back and win the game by one point.
Team’s record so far
The Texas State men’s basketball team is 7-4 overall and 1-1 in conference play after dropping their Sun Belt opener to Coastal Carolina on Wednesday. The Bobcats will look to get back on track Saturday when they host Appalachian State at Strahan Coliseum.
Baseball
The Texas State Bobcats are currently in the Sun Belt Conference standings. They are looking to improve their conference record and try to make it to the conference tournament. The team has been playing well as of late and they are hoping to keep it up.
Recent game against TCU
Texas State Bobcats baseball fell to the TCU Horned Frogs in their most recent matchup. The final score was 10-4, with TCU coming out on top. This was a disappointing loss for Texas State, who had been hoping to build on their momentum from their previous win against UTSA.
The Bobcats got off to a rough start, giving up 3 runs in the first inning. They were able to score 1 in the bottom of the inning, but TCU quickly increased their lead to 6-1 in the second. Texas State made a valiant effort to come back, scoring 2 runs in the bottom of the seventh, but it wasn’t enough. TCU’s 10-4 victory moves them up in the standings while Texas State falls back a bit.
Despite the loss, there were some bright spots for Texas State. Bobcat pitcher Ryanymes Feltner had a strong outing, striking out 8 batters in 6 innings. Additionally, catcher Nick Raquet had 2 hits and 2 RBIs. The Bobcats will look to rebound from this loss as they take on Baylor next weekend.
Team’s record so far
The Texas State Bobcats are 10-8 overall and 2-1 in the Sun Belt Conference after sweeping a three-game series against Little Rock this past weekend. It was the first time the Bobcats have won a conference series since joining the Sun Belt in 2014.
