Sports Clips, the nation’s largest provider of men’s and boys’ haircare services, will relocate its corporate headquarters to Georgetown, Texas, in early 2019, the company announced today. The move reflects Sports Clips’ continued growth and enables the company to be closer to a large concentration of its stores and team members.

“We are very excited to move our headquarters to Georgetown, Texas,” said Doug Dickerson, CEO of Sport Clips. “Texas has been home to Sport Clips since we opened our first store 25 years ago, and relocating our headquarters here will allow us to better serve our stores and team members in this important market.”

Sport Clips currently employs more than 1,800 people nationwide, including more than 400 at its corporate offices in St. Louis. The company expects to add more than 100 jobs in Georgetown over the next five years.

The Reason for the Move

Sport Clips is relocating its headquarters from Missouri to Texas, a move that company officials say will help Sport Clips keep up with its growth.

The haircutting chain has signed a lease for a 36,000-square-foot space in Georgetown, Texas, about 30 miles north of Austin. The new facility, which is expected to open in early 2019, will house Sport Clips’ corporate offices, including its marketing, IT and human resources departments. Currently, those departments are located in the company’s St. Louis-area headquarters.

The move comes as Sport Clips is experiencing rapid growth. The company has more than 1,700 locations nationwide and plans to add about 200 new stores each year for the foreseeable future.

“We’ve outgrown our current headquarters and needed to find a facility that could accommodate our future growth,” says Sport Clips CEO Gordon Logan. “The Georgetown location is ideal for us, and we’re excited to become part of the Central Texas community.”

Logan says the new headquarters will allow Sport Clips to be closer to several of its key suppliers, which are located in Texas. The move will also give the company access to a larger pool of potential employees.

Some Sport Clips employees will make the move to Texas, but the company expects most of its workforce will remain in Missouri. sportclips

The new headquarters will be located at 1000 W. University Ave., Suite 300, in Georgetown. The move is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
