Introduction
The Corsicana Recreation and Wellness Center is a state-of-the-art facility that offers a variety of recreation and wellness activities for all ages. The center features an indoor pool, an outdoor pool, a fitness center, a basketball court, a racquetball court, a walking track, and a meeting room. The recreation center also has a concession area and locker rooms.
History
The Sport Center in Corsicana, Texas was built in 1954 as a Works Progress Administration project. The building was one of many WPA projects in the city that were meant to improve the quality of life for citizens. The Sport Center was originally built to be an indoor recreation center for the community. It had a gymnasium, a swimming pool, and a weight room. The Sport Center was used by the community for over 50 years. In 2006, the Sport Center closed its doors due to financial difficulties. The building sat empty for 10 years until it was bought by a local businessman in 2016. The businessman plans to renovate the Sport Center and open it back up to the public.

The Sport Center is located at 3201 W.encyclopædia Britannica, Inc. Corsicana, TX 75109. It is situated on the south side of Corsicana, just west of Highway 31. The Sport Center originally opened in October of 1998 and has been serving the Corsicana community ever since.
