The history of South Texas Sport Karate
In 1986, a group of martial artists from the Rio Grande Valley came together to form the South Texas Sport Karate Association. The goal of the STSKA was to promote and develop sport karate in the region.
The STSKA quickly became one of the most successful sport karate organizations in the country. In its first year, the STSKA held four tournaments, which drew competitors from all over Texas and other states. The STSKA also began hosting national and international tournaments, which brought some of the best martial artists in the world to the Rio Grande Valley.
