What is South Texas Sport?
South Texas Sport is a non-profit organization that honors high school athletes in the South Texas area. South Texas Sport provides scholarships to deserving athletes and also awards a yearly “Sportsperson of the Year” award to an outstanding athlete in the region. What are the requirements for eligibility?
In order to be eligible for the South Texas Sport Honors, high school athletes must meet the following requirements:
-Be a high school senior
-Have a minimum GPA of 2.5
-Be a resident of South Texas
-Participate in a sport recognized by the South Texas Athletic Association (STAA)
-Be recommended by a high school coach or athletic director
How often are the awards given out?
The South Texas Sport Honors High School Athletes awards are given out four times a year.
