The franchise began play in 1980 as an expansion team, and won three Western Conference championships (1987, 2005, 2011), two NBA Finals appearances (2006, 2011), and one NBA Championship (2011). Overall, the Mavericks have made the playoffs in 31 seasons of their 36-year existence, including a span of 20 consecutive seasons from 1983 to 2002. However, since their second appearance and championship in 2006, they have missed the playoffs on eleven occasions.

Josh Howard- Howard was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He played high school basketball at Glenwood High School in Clemmons, North Carolina. As a senior in 1999–2000, he averaged 24 points, 12 rebounds and four assists per game as Glenwood went 28–3 en route to the state 4A championship game. In the title game against Laurinburg Institute, Howard scored 27 points to lead Glenwood to a 69–60 victory

The team was founded during the 1967 NHL expansion as the Minnesota North Stars, based in Bloomington, Minnesota. Before the beginning of the 1978–79 NHL season, the team merged with the Cleveland Barons after the league granted them permission due to each team having only seven players. Ultimately, the franchise relocated to Dallas for the 1993–94 NHL season. The Stars played out of Reunion Arena from their relocation until 2001, when they moved to American Airlines Center (AAC).

-Mike Modano: played for the Stars from 1993 to 2007. He is the franchise’s all-time leading scorer, with 1,374 points.
-Jere Lehtinen: played for the Stars from 1995 to 2010. He is a three-time Stanley Cup winner and a four-time Selke Trophy winner.
-Brenden Morrow: played for the Stars from 1999 to 2013. He is a Stanley Cup winner and a former captain of the team.

Overall, Arizona has qualified for 14 Stanley Cup Playoffs in their 27 seasons of play.
FC Dallas
FC Dallas is an American professional soccer club based in the Dallas suburb of Frisco, Texas. The club competes as a member of Major League Soccer (MLS), the top league in the United States and Canada. Dallas joined the league as an expansion team in 1996, and has since appeared in the playoffs twelve times.
History
FC Dallas, then known as the Dallas Burn, was founded in 1996 as a Major League Soccer expansion team. The franchise was originally owned by Lamar Hunt, who also owned the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League and the Kansas City Wizards of Major League Soccer. In 2005, Hunt’s sports empire, which also included the Chicago Bulls of the National Basketball Association and the Columbus Crew of MLS, was passed on to his son Clark via the Hunt Sports Group.
