Gregg Bennett was born and raised in Amarillo, Texas. After playing football for four years at Texas A&M, he graduated with a degree in Sport Management. He then worked for several years in various aspects of the sport industry including event management, sales, and marketing. In 2012, he began working as an assistant coach for the Texas A&M football team. In his current role, he is responsible for assisting the head coach with game planning, practice planning, and player development.
Work with the San Antonio Spurs
Gregg Bennett worked with the San Antonio Spurs as their Vice President of Basketball Operations from 2007 to 2016. In this role, he was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the basketball department and worked closely with Head Coach Gregg Popovich on all basketball-related matters. Bennett also served as the Spurs’ liaison to the NBA league office on all rule changes and interpretations.
