How to Mount Your Front License Plate on a BMW 340i M Sport

First, locate the two triangular mounting tabs on the back of your front bumper. These mounting tabs are located on either side of the center license plate mount.

Next, take your license plate and locate the two holes at the top of the plate. Line up these holes with the two mounting tabs on the bumper.

Instructions

1. Gather the tools and materials you will need. In order to mount your front license plate on your BMW 340i M Sport, you will need the following:
-a drill
-a 1/8” drill bit
-a ratchet
-a 10mm socket
-a Phillips head screwdriver
2. Review the location of the tow hook mount. The tow hook mount is located on the lower left side of the front bumper, near the center of the vehicle.
3. Drill a pilot hole into the tow hook mount. Use the 1/8” drill bit to drill a pilot hole into the tow hook mount. Be sure to drill slowly and carefully, as you do not want to damage the tow hook mount or the surrounding area.
4. Install the license plate bracket using the provided hardware. Once you have drilled a pilot hole, you can now install the license plate bracket using the provided hardware. First, use the ratchet and 10mm socket to remove the two bolts that secure the tow hook cover to the tow hook mount. Next, take the license plate bracket and align it with the holes that you just drilled. Finally, use the bolts that you removed in Step 4 to secure the license plate bracket tothe tow hook mount. Be sure to tightening until snug.
