Cajun Ragin’ & Sport Club is located at 1645 N. Interstate 35 in Markham, Texas – right off of I-35 and just minutes away from George Bush International Airport. We are also conveniently located near many hotels and restaurants.

Cajun Ragin’ & Sport Club is a full-service, family-friendly restaurant and sports bar located in Markham, Texas. We offer a wide variety of Cajun-style seafood and traditional American dishes, as well as a wide selection of beers, wines, and spirits. We have something for everyone!
In addition to our great food and drinks, we offer a wide variety of entertainment options. We have live music every Friday and Saturday night, as well as Karaoke on Wednesdays. We also have a full slate of sporting events on our big-screen TVs, including all the major college and professional sports leagues.

History of Cajun Ragin’ & Sport Club
Cajun Ragin’ & Sport Club in Markham, Texas has been around for over 20 years. The club started out as a small gathering of people who loved to play volleyball and soon turned into one of the most popular volleyball clubs in the area. The club now has over 200 members and has won numerous championships.
How it started
In the early 1980’s, Markham, Texas had a large population of residents from the state of Louisiana. These people loved to eat spicy food and watch sports. They would get together at each other’s houses to eat and watch the games. They became known as the “Cajun Ragin’ & Sport Club.”
In 1984, they decided to formalize their gatherings and rented a building in downtown Markham. The club grew in popularity and eventually outgrew its space. In 1988, they built a new clubhouse on five acres of land on the outskirts of town. The club now has over 500 members and is one of the largest and most popular organizations in Markham.

The restaurant is located in Markham, Texas, and offers a wide variety of menu items that are sure to please even the pickiest of eaters. some of the most popular dishes include the shrimp and grits, the red beans and rice, and the jambalaya. In addition to these Cajun classics, the restaurant also offers a wide variety of salads, sandwiches, burgers, and wraps. Cajun Ragin’ & Sport Club is a family-oriented business that takes pride in its southern hospitality. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and they are always willing to help out with whatever you need. They offer a wide variety of activities and events for the whole family to enjoy.
The Founders
John and Karen Sylvester are the heart and soul of Cajun Ragin’ & Sports Club. Together they have over 50 years of experience in the food, beverage, and entertainment industry. They are originally from New Orleans, LA and moved to Houston, TX in 1981. In 1986 they opened their first business, “The Pelican Club”, a successful seafood restaurant in The Woodlands, TX. In 1989 they sold the Pelican Club and decided to move to Markham, TX to open Cajun Ragin’ & Sports Club.
Cajun Ragin’ & Sports Club is truly a family affair. Their son Jay is the Executive Chef, their daughter Ashley is the General Manager, and their son-in-law Steven is the Operations Manager. John and Karen’s grandson Connor also works at Cajun Ragin’ & Sports Club as a busboy and dishwasher. The Sylvesters feel blessed to be able to work together as a family and to share their love of food and music with the community of Markham, TX.

Cajun Ragin’ & Sport Club is a private club with members from all over the world. The members of the club are passionate about their Louisiana heritage and love to share their culture with others. They are a diverse group of people, but all share a common love for good food, good music, and good times.

Cajun Ragin’ & Sport Club is a full-service club that offers a variety of recreational and competitive sports programs for children, adolescents, and adults. The club also has a bar and grill, making it the perfect place to unwind after a game or practice.
Social Events
Cajun Ragin’ & Sport Club is a family-friendly establishment that offers a variety of social events for members and their guests. Our social committee plans and hosts monthly gatherings, including but not limited to Mardi Gras celebrations, Crawfish Boils, Wine Tastings, Karaoke Nights, and Costume Parties. We also offer weekly events such as Bingo and Trivia Night. In addition, we have a spacious banquet hall that can be rented for private parties and special occasions.
Sports
Cajun Ragin’ & Sport Club offers a variety of sports leagues and programs for both adults and children. Leagues are offered in basketball, volleyball, football, and more. The club also offers drop-in games, clinics, and camps for children of all ages.
Cajun Ragin’ & Sport Club’s impact on the community
Cajun Ragin’ & Sport Club does more than provide a fun place to play and watch sports. The club also offers a sense of community for its members and the Markham, Texas community at large. Founding members wanted to create a club that would bring people together and provide a positive impact on the community.
Charitable Events
Cajun Ragin’ & Sport Club, located in Markham, Texas, supports and participates in a variety of charitable events throughout the year.
Annual events include a food drive benefits the St. Vincent de Paul Society food pantry and an Easter Egg Hunt that benefits children in need in the community. Cajun Ragin’ & Sport Club also hosts an annual Thanksgiving feast for the needy and participates in Adopt-A-Family program during the holidays.
In addition to these annual events, Cajun Ragin’ & Sport Club supports many other worthy causes such as autism awareness, breast cancer awareness, disabled veterans, animal rescue organizations and more. The members of Cajun Ragin’ & Sport Club are proud to be able to give back to their community and make a difference in the lives of others.
Community Outreach
Cajun Ragin’ & Sport Club strives to be not only a great place to eat, but also a great place to work and a great neighbor in the Markham, Texas community. We are proud of our involvement in various charitable causes and events. Below are some of the ways we’ve given back to our community.
-Cajun Ragin’ & Sport Club has partnered with the Markham Independent School District to provide scholarships for deserving students.
-We have also partnered with the City of Markham to help fund and maintain the city’s baseball fields.
-In addition, Cajun Ragin’ & Sport Club donates a portion of proceeds from certain menu items to the Markham Animal Shelter.
