In 2014, Holt became sole proprietor of SSG Franchise Holdings LLC., making him sole owner of both the San Antonio Spurs and Austin Toros. In 2015, sales tax revenue was approved for a new 10,000 seat arena to be constructed next to Cedar Park Center thus making way for a potential future NBA D-League franchise in Cedar Park should such a franchise become available through relocation or expansion. As of 2016, attendance had grown to nearly 8,000 fans per game night
Austin Bold FC
History
Bold FC was announced as Austin’s newest soccer team on August 21, 2018, with their inaugural season set to start in 2019. Austin Bold FC is owned by Circuit of The Americas chairman Bobby Epstein and managed by former USMNT striker Marcelo Balboa. The team plays its home games at Circuit of The Americas.
Austin Bold FC made their first ever signing on September 12, 2018, when they announced the signing of Trinidad and Tobago international Lesley Sierra. On October 16, 2018, the club announced the signing of former MLS goalkeeper Diego Restrepo. The team’s first ever head coach was named on November 27, 2018 when Marcelo Balboa was announced as the club’s first head coach and technical director.
On January 10, 2019, Austin Bold FC announced their inaugural season roster. The team’s first game was played on March 9th against San Antonio FC in the USL Championship.

Austin Aztex
The Austin Aztex are a professional soccer team that competes in the United Soccer League (USL). The team was founded in 2008, and they play their home games at Circuit of the Americas. The Aztex won the USL championship in their inaugural season, and they have since been one of the most successful teams in the league.

The Aztex organization was founded in 2008, and began play in the USL Premier Development League (PDL) in 2009. The club won two division championships and one conference championship in three seasons of PDL play. In 2012, the Aztex relocated to Austin after playing three seasons in Orlando, Florida, and joined the USL Pro league. The team played its home games at House Park stadium until 2016 when it moved to Circuit of the Americas’ MBEATC. After taking a break for the 2017 season, the team returned to USL play in 2018 but folded after one season back due to financial difficulties.
In October 2018, it was announced that a new Austin Aztex franchise would begin play in USL League One for the 2019 season.

Founded in 2008 as an expansion team of the Premier Development League (PDL), the Aztex reached the playoffs in their inaugural season. In 2009, the Aztex moved up to USL Division I and won the USL regular season championship. They subsequently played in and won the 2010 PDL Championship game, but lost their Division I playoff game. In 2011, they again won both the regular season and PDL championship titles. In 2012, they moved to Division II and won both the regular season title and playoffs, thus taking all three championships they participated in that year; this was a first for any soccer team in American professional soccer history to do so across multiple professional leagues. The Aztex vacated their 2013 season due to stadium construction delays. After spending two seasons absent from competition, Their return to play was announced on October 19, 2015; however their re-launched club played only one exhibition game before ceasing operations on January 11, 2016 due to financial instability caused by insufficient advance ticket sales for the home opener that was ultimately cancelled due to weather conditions.
In 2017, a new incarnation of the Aztex began play in USL PDL as U23 affiliate of Orlando City SC of Major League Soccer (MLS).
Austin Elite Rugby
The Austin Elite Rugby team is a professional rugby union team that competes in Major League Rugby (MLR). The team is based in Austin, Texas, and was founded in 2017. The Elite Rugby team is the product of a merger between the Austin Huns and the Austin Blacks.

The Austin Huns Rugby Football Club was founded in 1972 by a group of rugby enthusiasts in Austin, Texas. The club has been a member of the USA Rugby since 1976 and currently competes in Division I of the Southwest Conference. The Huns take great pride in their rich tradition and history, including being one of only two clubs in the nation to have both a men’s and women’s team that have qualified for the National Championships. In 2016, the club completed a $1 million dollar project that saw the addition of permanent seating and other amenities at their home fields, Huns Field at Circuit of The Americas.

The Aztex won one regular season championship (in 2013) and one conference championship (in 2014). They were also runners-up for the 2013 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. After sitting out 2016 due to rampant flooding at their artificial turf home stadium during Memorial Day Weekend that year, owner Phil Rawlins announced on January 6, 2017 that they would not play in 2017 as they searched for a new permanent home venue. A proposed stadium deal with Dell Technologies fell through on August 11th, ultimately resulting in Rawlins moving his franchise rights to Orlando, Florida where he would become majority owner/president of Orlando City Soccer Club two months later on October 16th.”

The Austin Acoustic are a brand new team in the National Lacrosse League. The team is set to begin play in 2020 at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park. The team is owned by actor Johnny Knoxville and his business partner Stephanie Carey.

They began play as the Syracuse Roasters in the 1995–96 season before relocating to Austin in 2005 and were known as the Austin Thrillers from 2005 to 2007.
On March 28, 2007, the D-League expansion committee unanimously approved a franchise for Austin that would begin play for the 2007–08 season. The franchise took its current name of Austin Toros on September 26, 2007.
In 2008–09, their first full season with their new name and logo, the Toros finished with 28 wins and 22 losses which placed them third overall in their division and sixth overall in winning percentage. They qualified for the playoffs where they beat the Dakota Wizards (now Santa Cruz Warriors) in a best-of-three series before losing to the eventual champions, the Los Angeles D-Fenders, in the semifinals. In 2009–10 season, they failed to qualify for the playoffs after finishing 16th overall with a 17–31 record. The 2010–11 season would be lockout shortened due to a dispute between owners and players of the NBA which did not end until December 8, 2011. Nonetheless, despite playing only 50 games instead of 66 games, they managed once again make it back into playoff contention by clinching 3rd place overall behind Los Angeles and Bakersfield with a 30–20 record. However, they lost 0–2 against Tulsa in Round 1 of postseasons.
Between 2012 and 2016, They never managed to return to playoff contention but enjoyed relative success by winning over 20 games each

The Austin Wranglers were a professional Arena Football League team based in Austin, Texas. They began play in February 2004 as one of the league’s expansion teams. Their home games were played at the Frank Erwin Center on the campus of the University of Texas at Austin. In October 2008, it was announced that the Wranglers would not return for the 2009 season.
