Texas State held its 2013 Pro Day this afternoon inside the End Zone Complex and outside on the practice field.

Five Bobcats went through the paces in front of about 10 scouts. Those Texas State players were linebacker Joplo Bartu, running back Marcus Curry, defensive end/tight end Chase Harper, cornerback Darryl Morris and quarterback Shaun Rutherford.

Bartu and Morris truly helped their draft stock. The former set Bobcat bests in the vertical (39 inches) and bench press (20 reps of 225 pounds), while the latter impressed in the broad jump (10-foot-4) and 40-yard dash (4.31).

Here is a list of Texas State’s players who competed and their bests.

  • Bartu – 39 inches
  • Curry – 36 inches
  • Harper – 32 inches
  • Morris – 36.5 inches
  • Rutherford – 32 inches

  • Bartu – 20 reps
  • Curry – 16 reps
  • Harper – 8 reps
  • Morris – 14 reps
  • Rutherford – Did not compete

Broad jump

  • Bartu – 9’10”
  • Curry – 9′
  • Harper – 9’7″
  • Morris – 10’4″
  • Rutherford – 8’7″

40-yard dash

  • Bartu – 4.88
  • Curry – 4.75
  • Harper – 5.07
  • Morris – 4.31
  • Rutherford – 4.95

Note #1 — Overheard Rutherford saying something about being involved in a recent car accident, which probably had a bit to do with his lower numbers.

Note #2 — Asked around about Harper and many felt he was just out of shape.

  2. Excellent work. Did you happen to get the official measurements…height, weight, arms, hand? Also, the shuttle runs? Thanks and keep up the great work.
