College Football: A true possession receiver

If Texas State sophomore wide receiver DeChé Milburn doesn’t have a nickname yet, it might as well be “First Down.” Seriously.

Through six games in 2012, Milburn has 11 catches for 94 yards. Of those catches, eight gave the Bobcats a new set of downs.

  • 10-yard catch on 3rd-and-3
  • 9-yard catch on 2nd-and-6
  • 12-yard catch on 3rd-and-8
  • 12-yard catch on 1st-and-10
  • 12-yard catch on 1st-and-10
  • 13-yard catch on 3rd-and-11
  • 11-yard catch on 1st-and-10
  • 10-yard catch on 1st-and-10

Five of those catches came on drives that eventually ended in touchdowns by Texas State.

The Bobcats need this kind of production to continue with junior wide receiver Isaiah Battle sidelined due to an injury.
