College Football: Halftime Update (Idaho Edition)

Texas State couldn’t get out its own way in the first half against Idaho.

While the Bobcats own a 14-7 lead at halftime, they could have easily been up by more. Texas State had several big plays called back due to penalties, including a 33-yard touchdown run by senior running back Marcus Curry and a 56-yard run by sophomore running back Terrence Franks.

Senior quarterback Shaun Rutherford had a hand in each touchdown for Texas State. Rutherford tossed a 31-yard touchdown pass to junior wide receiver Andy Erickson early in the first quarter, then ran in a 9-yard score 18 minutes later.

Erickson now has three touchdown catches in his last three games.

The Bobcats’ defense is doing fairly well against an anemic Vandal offense (108th in the nation). Texas State sacked Idaho quarterback Dominique Blackman once and hasn’t allowed too many big plays over the top.
