In addition to mentions on ESPN and in the Los Angeles Times, the Texas State football team appeared somewhere it had never been before — in the ‘Others Receiving Votes’ category of the Associated Press Top 25. The Bobcats received 10 points, including one 16th-place vote from Ray Rotto of Comcast SportsNet Bay Area.
Texas State had more points than the likes of Missouri, Texas A&M, Mississippi State and Auburn.
The Bobcats beat the University of Houston, 30-13, becoming the only underdog of more than 34 points to win a game by double digits. The Cougars were favored by 36 points prior to the game.
Texas State returns to action this Saturday when its hosts Texas Tech at 6 p.m.
