Quick Take No. 1: With true freshman Brandon Smith listed as the first-string ‘X’ receiver, it means one thing — Texas State got a steal in its recruiting class. The same could also be said about true freshman linebacker Jerrid Jeter-Gilmon.
Edit: There were several changes made Monday night by Texas State and those have been reflected in the depth chart. Sophomore Will Johnson is now listed as both the kicker and punter, while junior transfer Damion McMiller joined senior Brian Lilly on the first team. Freshman offensive lineman Adrian Bellard is now listed to split time with junior Devin Baker on the second team at strong tackle.
