College Football: Practice Notes (8-14-12)

When the Texas State Bobcats practice inside Bobcat Stadium tonight, they’ll notice something different about the facades of the upper decks. Construction crews took down existing advertisements in preparation to put up new ribbons boards, which have been delivered to the stadium.

And now for some tidbits from Tuesday’s morning practice…

  • Junior quarterback Tyler Arndt bounced back from a poor scrimmage yesterday with a solid outing. Arndt’s best play came late in practice when threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to senior running back Marcus Curry. There wasn’t much room for Arndt to drop the ball in, but Curry got a step on his defender following a well-run wheel route and Arndt’s throw was right where it needed to be.
  • Head coach Dennis Franchione said after watching film of Monday’s scrimmage, five players stood out to him — true freshman linebacker Jerrid Jeter-Gilmon, freshman running back Rob Lowe, junior transfer linebacker David Mayo, junior transfer linebacker Damion McMiller and freshman defensive back Martell Summers.
  • Single-game tickets for Texas State football games go on sale tomorrow.

Tyler, we are on a trip this week and can’t be at practice so we have enjoyed your notes on Bobcat practice! Thanks, Liz (Charlie Will’s mom)
