Former Texas State slugger Paul Goldschmidt used to have poor numbers against the Los Angeles Dodgers. With games like Monday night, those numbers should pick up in no time.
Goldschmidt went 2-for-5, clubbed his 14th home run and knocked in three runs. His long ball — a three-run shot — came in the first inning off Dodgers’ starter pitcher Aaron Harang. As noted earlier on the front page of MLB.com, Arizona is now 13-1 in games that Goldschmidt hits a home run.
Here are Goldschmidt’s numbers through 90 games in 2012 — .292 AVG, 14 HRs, 51 RBI.
