Texas State might be without an opponent for its scheduled home opener on Sept. 8.
As of right now, Texas Tech is considering buying out of the game due to a dispute over which ESPN affiliate will broadcast the proceedings. According to a report by Red Raider Sports, a source said the Red Raiders are “…adamantly opposed to playing on the Longhorn Network,” which might show the game.
The Longhorn Network is a channel dedicated to all things University of Texas.
If Texas Tech pulls out of the game, the Bobcats would be in a tough spot. It might be too late to schedule another ‘name’ program, or any program at all. Texas State might be forced to leave that date open and have its home opener be Sept. 22 against Stephen F. Austin.
